Software Engineering Intern – Marlo Marketplace (Early Careers)

About the role

We are looking for a curious and motivated Software Engineering Intern to join the Marlo Marketplace team within Alcon’s Vision Care Digital Health division in Warsaw. You will work on a modern full‑stack platform, building features that reach real users while learning from experienced engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST API endpoints using Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript (Node.js).
• Write AWS Lambda functions and deploy them with a serverless framework.
• Work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for data storage and retrieval.
• Integrate third‑party services such as Stripe, CommerceTools, and shipping/fulfillment APIs.
• Write clean, typed code with proper validation and error handling.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot build or deployment issues.

Required profile

• Strong desire to learn and ability to ask questions.
• Basic exposure to Python or TypeScript/JavaScript (through coursework or personal projects).
• Understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Experience with any SQL or NoSQL database.
• General awareness of cloud concepts (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
