Site Operations Manager – Yard Crane Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Site Operations Manager to lead and coordinate subcontracted yard crane site operations for the BU Horizontal & Yard. The role is based in Poland (Gdansk area or Warsaw) and works closely with external erection and installation partners as well as internal functions such as project management, logistics, HSE and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Accountable for yard crane erection and installation operations across Europe and global customer sites.
• Negotiate, prepare and manage commercial contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors.
• Ensure timely, budget‑compliant execution of site works and hand‑over to customers.
• Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards on all site activities.
• Support sales and tendering by providing feasibility studies, resource plans, cost estimates and schedules.
• Manage project schedules, resources and costs to achieve profitable execution.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational, commercial and project risks.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost performance and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Solid background in site operations for crane or heavy‑equipment installations.
• Structured, result‑oriented approach with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proven project‑management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Leadership capability and a strong safety mindset.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel flexibly, including short‑notice international assignments.
