Senior Software Engineer - SRE

About the role

Join our dynamic Vault Platform team as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer. You will ensure the scalability and reliability of Veeva’s enterprise applications that serve hundreds of global customers across North America, Europe, and Asia. The role combines deep Java expertise with modern open-source technologies to drive production stability at a global scale.

Key responsibilities

• Rapidly build new cloud infrastructure from scratch, following software development best practices.
• Ensure platform scalability and reliability for hundreds of global customers.
• Lead incident triage and mitigation, including periodic on-call duties.
• Develop tools and automation to eliminate manual work and shorten issue resolution.
• Provide full-stack diagnostics and root-cause analysis for production problems.
• Partner with engineering teams to design solutions that scale for over 2 million users.
• Participate in design reviews and drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Mentor team members and foster a high-performing environment.

Required profile

• 5+ years of Java development experience, preferably in enterprise cloud software.
• Hands-on operational experience in high-volume production environments, including incident management.
• Proven ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code in collaborative teams.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring.
