Senior Purchasing Specialist (2nd Shift)

About the role

Motorola Solutions' Supply Chain organization sources communications equipment and solutions for customers worldwide, and its Procurement team aims to improve profitability, supplier collaboration and new solution development. This Senior Purchasing Specialist (2nd shift) role ensures an efficient procure-to-pay process for indirect and project-related transactions and supports the organization's purchasing strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve high-value or complex purchase orders in line with company policies and contract terms.
• Own the full purchase order lifecycle, including resolving invoice discrepancies, managing Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) and closing POs on time.
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to streamline invoice processing and payments.
• Understand assigned procurement categories, comply with procurement policies and get to know the strategic and critical suppliers in each category.
• Collaborate with Category Managers on daily procurement activities, supplier proposal evaluations and contract renewals.
• Act as a subject matter expert in indirect procurement, identify process improvements and run alignment meetings with IT, AP and business units.
• Take part in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and give feedback on procurement systems.
• Maintain relationships with internal teams, business partners and suppliers, and take part in projects and ad-hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Proficiency in English; other languages are an advantage.
• Good analytical, verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to take part in occasional evening calls.

Required skills

• Ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics.
• Coupa knowledge is an advantage; procurement certifications are a plus.
