Senior Education Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Senior Education Officer to lead school‑based education and child‑protection programmes in Poland. You will design, implement and monitor initiatives such as Peace Corners and Power Corners, while building strong partnerships with local schools, municipalities and NGOs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the rollout of school‑based education and child‑protection activities, ensuring compliance with IRC technical guidance and quality standards.
• Design and deliver trainings and capacity‑building sessions for teachers, school staff and other adult stakeholders.
• Oversee EU‑funded projects at the school level, tracking progress against work packages, deliverables and timelines.
• Monitor and reconcile budgets, track expenditures and support financial reporting in coordination with Finance and Grants teams.
• Provide substantive inputs to grant proposals, concept notes and programme design, aligning them with field‑level needs.
• Identify and onboard new schools and education institutions, maintaining ongoing relationships with local education stakeholders.

Required profile

• Significant experience in school‑based education and child‑protection programming.
• Proven track record managing EU‑funded projects, including monitoring, reporting and compliance.
• Experience delivering trainings and building capacity among teachers and school staff.
• Strong partnership‑building skills with municipalities, teacher‑training centres and NGOs.
• Ability to manage budgets, track expenditures and support financial reconciliation.
