Senior Data Engineer (Remote)

About the role

The Codest, an international software company with partners in Polish tech hubs, is hiring a Senior Data Engineer remotely. You will work on a banking platform for one of Japan's leading financial groups, supporting the Fund Administration domain. The platform covers banking modules, data management and customer-facing applications, and the Data Flow Team integrates internal, vendor-hosted and third-party systems with data flows triggered by rules or events, running from every ten minutes to monthly.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement data processing pipelines covering data transformation, validation and mapping.
• Build and maintain integrations between data sources and destinations such as APIs, SQL databases, S3 buckets and SFTP servers.
• Develop and modify existing ETL workflows and data flows, and synchronize data across systems and formats.
• Test and validate data to ensure accuracy, integrity and reliable delivery.
• Provide post-deployment support and troubleshoot data integration issues.
• Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements and support production processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with ETL tools and data engineering in a professional environment.
• Strong SQL skills and commercial Python experience for data processing and scripting.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines across multiple sources and destinations.
• Ability to understand complex data flows, coding structures and logical workflows.
• Experience collaborating with developers and business stakeholders in an international environment.
• Attention to detail, strong communication skills and advanced English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Apache NiFi experience for building and maintaining data flows.
• Databricks familiarity, especially for new data integrations.
• Cloud data storage and services, including AWS S3.

Recruitment process: 30-minute screening call, 60-minute technical interview, 60-minute interview with the Team Leader, then an offer. Salary: PLN 22,000 - 30,000 per month.
