Python Engineer

About the role

Our client is a European deep‑tech startup developing next‑generation radar systems for detecting and tracking small, low‑flying drones. The team works across radar architecture, RF hardware, signal processing, embedded systems, AI and data‑processing software. This is a hands‑on R&D environment for engineers who enjoy building reliable Python tooling and turning experimental workflows into structured, reusable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain modular Python pipelines for loading, processing, transforming, analysing and exporting technical data.
• Turn experimental scripts and notebooks into maintainable packages with clear modules, utilities and interfaces.
• Develop reusable internal utilities and libraries that can be shared across experiments and engineering workflows.
• Perform data analysis and exploratory data analysis (EDA) using NumPy, Pandas and SciPy.
• Create technical visualisations with matplotlib, Plotly or similar tools.
• Containerise development workflows with Docker and manage version control with Git.
• Collaborate with signal‑processing, radar and AI/ML engineers using Jira and Slack.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of professional Python experience, preferably on engineering, scientific or data‑intensive projects.
• Strong understanding of Python codebase structuring, modules, packages and object‑oriented design.
• Experience building multi‑step data‑processing pipelines and working with numerical/time‑series data.
