Project Manager – Railway Automation

About the role

Hitachi Rail is looking for an experienced, independent Project Manager in Warsaw to lead projects end-to-end. The role suits someone with experience in managing technical projects who enjoys working with people and thrives in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project delivery within scope, schedule and budget, supervising progress and execution teams
• Plan and manage human, equipment, material and financial resources
• Manage project risk: identify, analyse and implement preventive and corrective actions
• Build and lead the core project team, motivating members and ensuring effective communication
• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as the client, contract engineer and subcontractors, including project meetings
• Prepare project documentation and reports (progress, financial, technical, dashboards)
• Support negotiations with clients, suppliers and subcontractors and resolve conflicts
• Organise project acceptance and handover to operation, including the required documentation

Required profile

• Higher technical education, preferably in a technical field
• At least 4 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in railway automation or telecommunications project management
• Good communication skills, negotiation skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships
• Ability to work under pressure, make decisions and solve problems
• English at a level allowing free work in a project environment
• Category B driving licence

Required skills

• Knowledge of project management principles and techniques
• Practical knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project
• Reading technical documentation and preparing project reports
