Cloud Data Engineer

About the role

PwC Poland’s Cloud & Digital team is seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to design and operate modern data platforms for clients across Consumer Goods, Retail, Manufacturing and Financial Services. You will work with Azure‑based technologies to build data warehouses, lakes and lakehouses that enable reliable analytics and AI use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Build data platforms using Azure Databricks, MS Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
• Define end‑to‑end data flows from ingestion to semantic presentation using a medallion architecture.
• Design migration plans to move transactional and master data from legacy systems to new reference solutions.
• Conduct data assessments with Data Modelers and Analysts to identify and remediate quality issues.
• Liaise with senior client stakeholders and Senior Data Architects to gather functional requirements.
• Support Data Governance experts in defining standards, especially around Master Data Management and Data Quality.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering or related fields (BI, Data Science).
• Hands‑on experience with data transformation tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery or MS Fabric.
• Proven ability to build data warehouses, lakes and lakehouses using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Proficiency in Python (PySpark) and SQL for data transformation scripts.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release management using Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Business‑level English (B2) and confidence writing technical documentation.
