Backend Java Internship – IT (f/m)

About the role

Join Bosch's international development team as a Backend Java Intern. You will work on a core internal application, following Agile practices, and gain hands‑on experience across the full software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, improve and extend the existing software stack with new functionalities.
• Participate in the entire development cycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, process experts and technical contacts of related systems.
• Take part in code reviews, mentor junior developers and promote best‑practice coding standards.

Required profile

• Current student (2‑4 years) in an IT‑related field.
• Available for at least 30 hours per week.
• Self‑motivated, flexible and able to work in a virtual, multicultural team.
• Strong command of English and end‑to‑end thinking.

Required skills

• Java development, including Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Experience with web services, REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Unit testing with JUnit, Jupiter and Mockito.
• Git/Git Flow version control.
• Understanding of SOLID principles, Clean Code and Test‑Driven Development.
