AI Integration & Automation Engineer – Customs (Warsaw)

About the role

You will take our AI stack and lead its development and customization for the customs market. This builder‑doer role involves designing, testing and implementing practical, compliant AI solutions on top of foundation models for document understanding, classification, retrieval and multi‑step operational workflows. You will work closely with Operations, Transformation, IT and Group teams to turn business needs into scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and customise AI solutions from prototype to production ownership.
• Identify automation and decision‑support opportunities across customs processes and size them before building.
• Design solutions using generative AI, LLMs, retrieval, tool calling and agentic workflows.
• Own evaluation, define success criteria, monitor performance, inference cost, latency and business impact.
• Manage pilots, set clear criteria for scaling or killing them, and collaborate with local teams and technology partners.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of AI engineering, software engineering or intelligent automation experience.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with production‑level code ownership.
• Demonstrated experience integrating large language models into production systems.
• Hands‑on experience with a major cloud AI platform (Azure AI, AWS Bedrock or Google Vertex).
• Solid full‑stack backend fundamentals – APIs, data pipelines, testing, CI/CD.
• Excellent communication skills and professional fluency in English.
