AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic (AM-2)

About the role

Amentum is recruiting an AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic (AM-2) in Inowroclaw, Poland. The mechanic performs maintenance and inspections on AH-64 systems in line with FAA standards, carrying out the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance with a primary focus on the AH-64, including assembly, modification and repair of major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Install, connect and adjust complete systems such as fuel, heat, lubrication, hydraulic, engine and transmission, and install and align fuselage parts and tail rotor assemblies
• Rig complete flight control systems and incorporate authorized modifications and changes
• Perform operational checks of hydraulic and fuel systems using external power sources and powered ground equipment
• Inspect and troubleshoot to find the cause of malfunctions, disassemble to the point of trouble, and adjust, repair, realign or replace defective components or assemblies
• Direct lower-graded mechanics in the assembly, modification and checkout of the aircraft and coordinate with general mechanics and sheet metal workers
• Prepare maintenance forms and records, and carry out additional duties as required

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Five or more years of aviation maintenance experience on the AH-64, preferably within the last five years
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization (US citizenship required for the work location); interim NAC-I T1 Public Trust credential required for deployment
• Valid passport required for deployment to Poland
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, work in a drafty, noisy, dirty shop and in all-weather conditions, and pass a respirator fit test

Required skills

• Good communication skills and adaptability, with the ability to troubleshoot entire aircraft systems
• Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical and associated systems principles
• Knowledge of quality control, production and supply procedures
• Reading, applying and interpreting technical data
• Use of hand tools, measuring devices and diagnostic equipment, and typing on a keyboard
