Travel & Expenses Specialist (German)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Travel & Expenses Specialist fluent in German to support its EMEA markets. The role ensures end‑to‑end execution of travel and expense processes, drives compliance, and contributes to the successful rollout of SAP Concur across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full Travel & Expenses (T&E) cycles for assigned EMEA markets, including compliance checks, posting, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Audit expense reimbursement requests for adherence to company policies, SOX requirements, and local accounting regulations.
• Perform month‑end close activities, ensuring accurate and compliant financial outputs.
• Manage corporate card applications and follow‑up on overdue accounts.
• Maintain and update country travel policies and T&E documentation (work instructions, decks).
• Provide high‑quality support to employees and stakeholders via ticketing tools, prioritising critical issues.
• Train and educate users on SAP Concur through webinars, roll‑outs and end‑user support.
• Support Concur implementation projects, ensuring timely data collection and accurate documentation.
• Prepare country‑specific HR, KPI and compliance reports, including compliance rate metrics.
• Act as Local Process Owner, collaborating with Global and Regional Process Owners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in English and German.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.
• 2+ years experience in a corporate or shared‑services environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting or HR processes.
• Experience with stakeholder management and technology roll‑outs, preferably SAP Concur.

• SAP Concur
