Senior Surety Underwriter – Warsaw

About the role

Shape the future of Zurich’s Surety business in its new Polish branch. The Senior Surety Underwriter will lead facility and bond underwriting for corporate clients, negotiate terms and ensure compliance with local and group standards.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage facility and bond underwriting for corporate clients, conducting creditworthiness and risk analyses.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate terms, bond wordings, indemnities and other recourse documents.
• Implement and manage surety contracts for domestic business.
• Monitor market trends and emerging risks, adapting strategies to stay competitive.
• Collaborate with other lines of business, sales and claims on cross‑line opportunities.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Surety underwriting, preferably with large industrial corporate clients.
• Strong financial analysis skills and ability to interpret financial statements.
• Proven track record of managing profitable underwriting portfolios.
• Deep understanding of surety market, products, regulations and bond wordings.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional qualifications are a plus.
• Fluent in Polish and English; German is an advantage.
