Senior Python/PySpark Developer

About the role

We are seeking a senior Python developer to lead the creation of a new data and application platform for an investment‑banking client. The team values clean code, agile practices, and high‑quality delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable back‑end services and APIs using Python.
• Build and optimise data pipelines and workloads on Databricks with PySpark.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and release processes in Azure DevOps.
• Advise the team on architecture, design decisions, and best practices.
• Mentor developers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Define and consume RESTful APIs, communicating requirements across teams.
• Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Participate actively in Scrum/Kanban ceremonies.
• Collaborate with QA, product managers, and architects to ensure high‑quality deliveries.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands‑on Python development skills.
• Experience with PySpark and distributed data processing.
• Proven ability to design, build and maintain ETL pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks and automated testing of data pipelines.
• Familiarity with agile practices (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
