Senior Demand Planning Specialist

About the role

Alcon is looking for a Senior Demand Planning Specialist to align commercial and supply‑chain plans, translate market insights into executable forecasts, and support new product launches. You will work in a fast‑paced, international environment, partnering with finance, commercial, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Align commercial and supply‑chain plans, turning business priorities into demand and supply forecasts.
• Lead the monthly Demand Review with key stakeholders, ensuring agreement on assumptions, risks and forecast changes.
• Own demand forecast submission for all affiliates and franchises, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain master data quality to support reliable planning processes.
• Define new product launch (NPL) strategy and coordinate cross‑functional planning.
• Drive financial reconciliation between operational demand plans and financial expectations.
• Monitor inventory exposure, manage obsolescence risk and implement mitigation actions.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in demand planning, S&OP/IBP or supply‑chain planning within a complex, international organization.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, able to turn large data sets into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, capable of leading meetings across cultures.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Demand forecasting and S&OP/IBP processes.
• Experience with planning systems such as SAP, APO/IBP or Kinaxis.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Data visualization/analytics tools, e.g., Power BI.
• Inventory management, including excess and obsolete inventory mitigation.
