Senior Airframe Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus Helicopters' structural analysis team in Krakow to lead fatigue and damage tolerance activities for next‑generation fuselage structures and the existing fleet. You will act as the technical anchor for primary airframe structures, guiding complex stress analyses and supporting certification efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex F&DT analysis work packages, establish technical guidelines, approve stress dossiers, and mitigate engineering risks.
• Define structural validation strategies for new programs and fleet updates in collaboration with chief engineers, airworthiness authorities, and design teams.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, ensuring high‑quality and consistent deliverables.
• Drive technical innovation by integrating advanced simulation techniques, Python automation workflows, and structural health monitoring strategies.
• Oversee fleet issue investigations, complex repair validations, and multidisciplinary trade studies with design, manufacturing, and test teams.

Required profile

• Master's degree or PhD in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering.
• Several years of experience in Fatigue & Damage Tolerance analysis and associated processes.
• Proven leadership in managing technical work packages and mentoring team members.
• Fluency in English (working language).

Required skills

• Proficiency with FEA platforms such as HyperWorks, Nastran/Patran, and Abaqus.
• Python programming for automation and advanced simulation workflows.
