Process Engineer – Water Desalination & Wastewater Treatment

About the role

SD Solutions is recruiting a Process Engineer for a WaterTech client to design and deliver water desalination and wastewater treatment plants. You will ensure projects meet client specifications, schedules, quality standards, and budgets while providing technical support throughout all design phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mass balances, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and hydraulic profiles for plant concepts.
• Create preliminary layouts, P&IDs, and perform hydraulic calculations including flow rates, pressures, pipe sizing and material selection.
• Prepare technical specifications, equipment, instrument, valve and I/O lists, and support procurement with supplier evaluations.
• Draft Sequence of Operations, commissioning and start‑up procedures, and operation & maintenance manuals.
• Participate in technical meetings, report to project manager and lead engineer, and provide on‑call support during project launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Water & Wastewater Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment and engineering project companies.
• Hands‑on experience with plant commissioning and start‑up is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of water desalination and wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience with PFDs, mass & energy balances, P&IDs, and hydraulic calculations.
• Ability to prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and technical presentations.
• High level of technical English proficiency.
