Data Scientist – FinCrime & AI Solutions

About the role

PwC Poland’s FCU Technology team is seeking a Data Scientist to join its R&D group. You will work on anti‑financial crime solutions, applying data science and AI techniques to real‑world challenges such as AML, fraud detection, and sanctions compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Take data through its full lifecycle: research, exploration, preprocessing, development, integration and implementation.
• Develop prototypes and proofs of concept that address FinCrime‑related problems using machine‑learning and generative‑AI methods.
• Collaborate with clients and internal departments to design tailored solutions and automation tools.
• Contribute to data‑science product development from both technical (backend, pipelines) and commercial perspectives (pricing, solution architecture).
• Mentor junior and mid‑level team members and share knowledge through training, certifications and conferences.
• Work in an agile environment alongside developers, DevOps engineers and business analysts.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in data science or R&D.
• University degree, preferably in Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Creative, critical thinking and strong curiosity about business processes.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Data‑science libraries: pandas, polars, scikit‑learn, Keras, PyTorch, LightGBM.
• Generative AI concepts: prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents.
• SQL and data‑warehouse knowledge.
• Python app frameworks: Streamlit, Poetry.
• Generative‑AI tools: LangChain, LangGraph, Vertex AI, Azure OpenAI.
• MLOps/DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, REST API, CI/CD, Linux.
• Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP.
