Data Engineer – FCU Technology Team (Remote)

About the role

The FCU Technology team at PwC Poland is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that support analytical and reporting solutions for global financial‑services clients. You will work remotely, collaborating with analysts, BI developers and business stakeholders to translate regulatory and business requirements into robust technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain end‑to‑end data engineering solutions, from ingestion through transformation to curated datasets.
• Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks, Apache Spark, SQL and Python.
• Work with Delta Lake tables, handling schema evolution, incremental processing and performance tuning.
• Model data structures and optimise analytical data stores (lakehouse / data warehouse).
• Implement data‑quality, validation and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with analysts, BI developers and business owners to deliver data‑driven insights.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in client‑facing activities, presenting solutions and explaining technical concepts.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Commercial experience in data engineering, database development or data platform roles.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing and lakehouse architectures.
