Cloud Data Architect

About the role

PwC Poland’s Cloud & Digital team is seeking a Cloud Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of modern data platforms for clients across Consumer Goods, Retail, Manufacturing and Financial Services. The role involves shaping data architecture from ingestion to presentation, ensuring high‑quality, harmonised data across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee data models that support business architecture and create entity diagrams and workflows.
• Define end‑to‑end data flows, from ingestion through processing to presentation.
• Develop migration plans to move data from legacy systems to modern reference platforms.
• Build enterprise‑grade data warehouses, data lakes and lakehouses using Azure Data Factory and Synapse.
• Conduct comprehensive data assessments, identify quality issues and implement remediation.
• Act as technical lead for data transformation projects, guiding engineers, modelers and analysts.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders and leverage tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Fabric and BigQuery.
• Contribute to data standards, policies, master data management and data‑quality frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture or related data engineering roles.
• Proven hands‑on experience with data transformation platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Fabric).
• Experience building data warehouses, lakes and lakehouses on Azure (Data Factory, Synapse).
• Strong business‑level English (B2 or higher) and ability to produce technical documentation.
• Familiarity with AI‑based tools and automation in daily work is a plus.
