About the role
We are looking for a Business Controller to join our team and provide high-quality financial and business insights across selected areas of the organisation. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a commercial mindset, works effectively with business stakeholders, and translates financial data into clear recommendations that support informed decision-making.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for selected business areas.
- Monitoring financial performance and explaining key variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Preparing management reports, analyses, and presentations for business stakeholders and group reporting purposes.
- Providing financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decision‑making.
- Partnering with business leaders to monitor key performance indicators and identify risks and opportunities.
- Conducting profitability analyses across products, customers, projects, and distribution channels.
- Supporting working capital and cash flow analysis and monitoring fixed‑asset‑related data.
- Supporting period‑end closing, data consolidation, and recurring reporting processes.
- Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of financial data and reports.
- Participating in cross‑functional projects and preparing business cases and financial evaluations.
- Improving controlling and reporting processes, tools, and data quality.
- Working closely with accounting, finance, and business teams, and supporting cooperation with auditors when required.
Required profile
- 3–5 years of experience in business and/or financial controlling, financial analysis, or a similar role.
- A university degree, preferably in management accounting, finance and accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- ACCA or CIMA qualifications, completed or in progress, would be an advantage.
Required skills
- Strong analytical skills and confidence in working with large volumes of data.
- Ability to interpret financial results, identify business drivers, and formulate actionable recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP, reporting, or business intelligence tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Independence, accuracy, accountability, and a process‑improvement mindset.
