Advanced Packaging Engineer – Unitization & Cost‑Saving Projects

About the role

As an Advanced Packaging Engineer at 3M, you will lead initiatives that improve unitization, reduce costs, and drive sustainable packaging innovations across the supply chain. You will work closely with logistics, manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers to deliver measurable impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects that improve unitization and warehouse cube efficiency in distribution centers.
• Conduct cost‑saving assessments in manufacturing plants, logistics, and supplier networks.
• Deliver VAVE cost‑reduction projects across the end‑to‑end supply chain and cross‑business initiatives.
• Optimize materials and structural designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
• Investigate quality and damage issues, recommend solutions, and implement sustainable improvements.
• Explore new sustainable packaging materials and technologies to meet cost and environmental goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management and Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the packaging industry.
• Proven track record delivering VAVE and cost‑saving projects across the supply chain.
• Fluent verbal and written communication in Polish and English.
• Self‑starter with the ability to manage rapidly changing priorities.
• Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Power Bi).

Required skills

• ISTA test protocols for transit packaging validation.
• SAP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• ArtiosCAD for packaging design.
• TOPS or related packaging software.
• Power Bi and advanced Excel skills.
